11th Protein Summit, Creating New Protein Strategies was held on 24-26 October 2018 in Lille France. Senior scientist Dilek Ercili-Cura presented VTT's vision and latest achievements on cellular agriculture concepts. Cellular Agriculture refers to use of single cell organisms and bioreactors instead of traditional agricultural systems for production of food proteins or other materials.
The summit gathered more than 400 delegates, 75 speakers and 50 exhibitors together and facilitated more than 25 hours for networking. The summit was held within 5 sessions dedicated to; Protein 2030, Plant-based foods, high protein foods, protein ingredients, and protein processing and brought together industry and public policy leaders to discuss, build and shape the future strategies. VTT had a booth at the exhibitors' space and showcased VTTs Food without Fields concepts along with plant-based food ingredients competence.
