The 6th Dietary Fibre conference was held in Paris 1-3 June 2015 with more than 200 international participants. The conference started with two practical workshops focusing on measurement of total dietary fibre and available carbohydrates and MyNewGut project (Microbiome's influence on energy balance and brain development/function put into action to tackle diet related diseases and behaviour). The meeting continued in five different sessions of consumer and regulatory aspects, consumer health, dietary fibre in food and new ingredients, classification and analysis and increasing fibre intake: challenges and benefits. From VTT, Prof Kaisa Poutanen gave the keynote talk "Dietary fibre: from structure to function and health: state of the art and open questions" and Senior Scientist Nesli Sozer gave an oral presentation on " Bioprocessing of bran improves the technological, structural and textural properties of high fibre extrudates" and poster presentation on "Birch pulp xylan as dietary fibre ingredient and hydrocolloid for dairy applications".
