The 3rd FOODSEG Symposium was held in Novi Sad

The 3rd FOODSEG Symposium - Safe Food for Europe, Recent scientific and regulatory developments - was held in Novi Sad, Serbia on 24th and 25th of April 2014. Delegates from 25 countries attended the symposium and discussed the latest issues related to food safety. The symposium brought together experts from academia, industry and decision-makers to exchange know-how and discuss future policy development as well as to identify future research fields and topics in food safety. The presentations covered review on food crisis management, consumer habits and their impact on food safety, authenticity, by-product and resource management, environmental friendly lifestyle and persistence of food-borne pathogens, using microbial interactions as preventive measure, antibiotics and vet drugs in food production, safety of produce, rapid novel detection techniques, advances in food technology and preservation as well as mycotoxins and feed safety.
