NEW RESULTS: Plasma metabolites may mediate effects of rye bread on satiety and weight maintenance

The evidence of the beneficial health effects of dietary fibre and whole grain consumption is strong, but the underlying mechanisms are not completely understood. In the recent study, researchers from VTT, University of Eastern Finland and Kuopio University Hospital investigated how the consumption of high-fibre rye bread or white wheat bread modifies the plasma metabolomic profiles in postmenopausal women.
