Curriculum Vitae

Hanna-Leena has wide expertise in applied microbiology. She has 29 peer-reviewed publications related mostly to probiotic technology, viability of microbes and antimicrobial mechanisms of bioactive agents. This work has mainly been carried out in EU and National Technology Agency of Finland funded research projects as well as in contract based research projects for the industry. Current area of interest includes understanding the effects of environmental stresses on microbial survival mechanisms and interactions in various food and processing systems.
